1. Agreement to Terms

By accessing or using Shelterwise (“we,” “us,” or “our”) at shelterwise.co, you agree to be bound by these Terms of Service. If you do not agree, do not use the service.

2. The Service

Shelterwise provides a one-time-purchase digital report service. You upload a PDF home inspection report, and we generate a 5-year capital expense forecast for the major systems in your home. The purchase price is $29.00 USD, paid at checkout via Stripe. No subscription or recurring billing is involved.

3. Not Professional Advice

Reports generated by Shelterwise are for financial planning and budgeting purposes only. They do not constitute:

• A professional engineering or structural assessment
• A real estate appraisal or inspection
• A contractor quote or bid
• Legal, financial, or investment advice

Cost estimates are based on regional averages, system condition data extracted from your inspection report, and expected system lifespans. Actual costs may vary significantly based on scope of work, local labor rates, material prices at time of repair, contractor availability, and unforeseen conditions discovered during work. Always obtain bids from licensed, insured contractors before authorizing any repair or replacement work.

4. Accuracy of Estimates

Shelterwise makes no warranty that cost estimates are accurate, complete, or suitable for any particular purpose. Estimates are derived from AI analysis of your uploaded document combined with regional cost data. The quality of output depends on the quality and completeness of your input document. We expressly disclaim any liability for decisions made based on the estimates in your report.

5. Payments and Refunds

Payment is processed securely by Stripe. By completing a purchase, you authorize the one-time charge of $29.00 USD.

Refund policy: Because your report is a generated digital product delivered immediately upon payment, all sales are final once report generation has begun. If you experience a technical failure — for example, if report generation fails or your download link does not work — contact us at support@shelterwise.co and we will resolve it promptly or issue a full refund.

If you believe you were charged in error, contact us within 30 days of the charge.

6. Acceptable Use

You agree not to:

• Upload documents you do not have the right to share
• Attempt to circumvent rate limiting, access controls, or security measures
• Use the service for any unlawful purpose
• Reverse engineer, scrape, or reproduce our reports or AI output at scale
• Resell or redistribute generated reports without our written permission

7. Intellectual Property

The Shelterwise platform, including its software, design, and underlying AI models, is owned by us and protected by applicable intellectual property laws. The report generated for you is licensed to you for personal and business planning use. You may not resell or publicly redistribute reports without our consent.

You retain all rights to your uploaded inspection report. By uploading it, you grant us a limited license to process it solely for the purpose of generating your report.

8. Limitation of Liability

To the maximum extent permitted by applicable law, Shelterwise and its operators shall not be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages, including but not limited to lost profits, property damage, or costs of repair, arising out of or related to your use of the service or reliance on any report. Our total liability to you for any claim arising from your use of the service shall not exceed the amount you paid for the report ($29.00 USD).

9. Disclaimer of Warranties

The service is provided “as is” and “as available” without any warranty of any kind, express or implied, including warranties of merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, or non-infringement. We do not warrant that the service will be uninterrupted, error-free, or that results will be accurate or reliable.

10. Changes to Terms

We may update these Terms from time to time. Updated terms will be posted at this URL with a revised “Last updated” date. Continued use of the service after changes are posted constitutes acceptance of the revised terms.

11. Governing Law

These Terms are governed by and construed in accordance with the laws of the United States, without regard to conflict of law principles. Any disputes arising under these Terms shall be resolved in the applicable courts.
